Region I and the West Virginia Desk and Derrick Club are excited!
We have designed our logo, have sponsorship letters and forms ready to send, and even went so far as to have the hotel remodeled for you! Yes, the Charleston Town Center Marriott just announced an $8 million dollar makeover……….they are planning on beginning immediately and we can rest assured it will be perfect when you arrive September 25, 2013!
(BUT our rooms will remain at $129).
Our General Arrangements Committee is formed and has begun meeting and planning.
It will be autumn in West Virginia, and we are hoping for an early frost so you can enjoy the colors of the hills and valleys as you explore and learn about our energy industries this side of the Mississippi. We will share our Appalachian heritage, natural wonders, and some really fun times with you. Our evening of entertainment will be relaxed, educational, and even combustive….yes, an all in one evening of hilarity! We cannot wait to see who proves themselves CHAMPION during our GAME SHOW program.
With field trips spanning to various areas of West Virginia, and focusing the seminars on a true variety of topics, we hope everyone believes they chose the BEST option at the end of the day! Marcellus shale production, coal, oil refining, safety, natural gas usage, and many more options are being explored. Also we are making every effort for everyone to have the opportunity to visit Tamarack, a showcase of West Virginia’s artisans and their creations. Oh, I forgot this was supposed to be a general report….but then I warned you…we are excited!
Mark your calendar, September 25-29, 2013, and come visit the country roads of
West Virginia. We are making plans for you, and they will be Wild and Wonderful.
